Welcome to New Generation International High School!

 

NGHS has an innovative modified block schedule that allows for more personalization, greater access to electives and extended instructional time. Students are trilingual in Arabic, English, French and or German and successfully complete each year’s Character Building Course.

 

New Generation offers an American Diploma and the Advanced Placement International Diploma. 90% of our high school students prepare for the full APID comprising the last two years of high school. APID students must pass an exam in world language, mathematics or science, arts (Music Theory or Art History) and a global perspective course (World History or Human Geography).

   

The high school faculty is international. Many hold master’s degrees, a few hold the doctorate. Several faculty members maintain adjunct professor positions at the American University of Cairo. All world language teachers are native speakers. The faculty works closely with the students as each student has an individual advisor for the senior project.

 

Because we are small, have an intensely rigorous academic environment where nearly all graduates plan to go on to four year colleges or universities, and because many of the grade distinctions between students are too slight to be significant, the students are not ranked individually.

 

The Class of 2012 will be the first graduating class from New Generation International High School.  Students must achieve 24 high school graduation credits to be eligible to receive a high school diploma.

 

New Generation International High School is truly an international experience because it promotes the following: international faculty; French, German and IT Diplomas; Advanced Placement university credit courses; Model United Nations; Theory of Knowledge Course; Community Service Experience; Conseil de Classe process and Arabic theatrical performances. The high school program is unique in its “balanced approach” to graduation, life-long learning and global citizenship.
